The musical isn't the only act at the Mountain Play. With puppetshows for kids and guest performances before the show, as well as musical entertainment while you wait to board the bus afterwards, we'll help keep you entertained all day long.

Puppet Shows
Free childrens' shows at the puppet theatre by the flagpole, performed by Randal Metz. Takes place on the day of each performance.
Times: 10:30am and 11:30am

Pre-Show Guest Performers
This year the
Mountain Play welcomes "Til Dawn", a marvelous A
capella group made up of High School students from all
over Marin County. San Rafael's Youth in Arts, in addition to helping fund "Til Dawn", also puts on
the Italian Street Painting one weekend each June.
"Til Dawn" will appear prior to each performance of
"The Wizard of Oz".
All performances are from 11 - 11:30am.

The Rowan Bros (Lorin & Chris) are Bay
Area favorites who originally hail from New England &
who have entertained Bay Area crowds with their
beautiful harmonies and original music as well as well
known favorites since the early 70's.)
5/25, 6/8, 6/15:
Garrin Benfield who hails from
upstate New York has graced many stages throughout the
U.S. His quirky pop melodies and soothing vocal styles
are winning in every way. Familiar songs are often
twisted & contorted into gorgeous new creations that
leave audiences breathless. He performs all vocals,
guitar, baritone guitar, mandolin & much of the bass
guitar parts on his latest album!

Costume Contest
Come dressed as your favorite character from "Wizard of Oz" for a chance to win 2 reserved seating tickets to next year’s Mountain Play! We’ll give out one pair of tickets to the best costume at each show.
To enter: Come to the show in your best "Wizard of Oz" outfit, be it Dorothy inspired pigtails + ruby slippers, or an all-green Ozian get-up! Check-in next to the T-shirt booth from 11am-12pm on the day of the show.
We’ll take your picture and get your contact information,while our judges choose the best costume of the day to win a voucher redeemable for 2 tickets in the Sun Circle section near the stage for the 2009 Mountain Play!

New! Face Painting
Look 'Oz-some' on the mountain by having your face painted by the art students of Tamalpais High School.
From 10:30-11:30 get hearts, rainbows, witch hats, and other fun images for just $3 for kids and $5 for adults. Have your whole face painted for $5 for kids and $10 for adults.
All proceeds benefit the Tam High Fine Arts program.
